Why Students are Supporting James
When he was elected in 2005 James became the youngest member of Leeds City Council. He represents Headingley ward, which has the highest proportion of young and student constituents in the country.
James has very close relationships with the LDYS groups in the region and with the student unions of the higher education institutions in Leeds. He has worked hard to balance the views of students in his ward with those of long term residents.
Representing Headingley ward and being a part-time PhD student at Bradford University has given James a unique insight into the views of students and young people.
